Photography Business Goals | Editorial Photography | Weddings | Branding Sessions

Every new year feels like a deep breath — a chance to reflect, refine, and realign. 2026 is no different. As my business continues to evolve, I want to be intentional about where I’m going, how I’m growing, and how I’m serving my clients.

Here are my goals for my photography business in 2026 — creatively, professionally, and personally.

Bold & Editorial Photography Sessions

Bold, editorial-style sessions are stepping into the spotlight this year — and I’m here for it. While portraiture will always have my heart, this new direction allows for more creativity, movement, and storytelling.

I’ll still weave classic portrait elements into my work, but styles evolve — and so do client desires. My priority is (and always will be) serving my clients well, which means adapting with the times while staying true to my artistic foundation.

Growth doesn’t mean abandoning what I love — it means expanding it.

One Wedding Per Quarter | Intentional Wedding Photography

No matter how many times I think I’m ready to step away from weddings… I always miss them.

Weddings are joyful, emotional, and fast-paced in the best way. In 2026, my goal is to shoot one wedding per quarter — just enough to scratch the itch, stay creatively fulfilled, and continue offering couples an intentional, meaningful experience.

Quality over quantity. Always.

Pay Sales Tax On Time | Photography Business Finances

Sales tax is already expensive — the last thing I want to do is add late fees on top of that. In 2026, I’m committed to staying organized, paying on time, and taking advantage of early payment discounts whenever possible.

And honestly? Notion has made me look forward to it. WHAT?!

If you’re a checklist person like I am, Notion makes it possible — and it lets you make it pretty. Having everything laid out, tracked, and visually organized takes the stress out of sales tax and turns it into something oddly satisfying to check off.

It’s not the most glamorous goal, but it is a necessary (and now slightly enjoyable) one for a healthy, sustainable business.

Meet Other Photographers | Community Over Competition

There’s something special about fellowship.

I deeply love my friends, but there’s also value in connecting with other photographers — people who understand the behind-the-scenes realities, the creative highs, the slow seasons, and the business struggles.

In 2026, I want to be more intentional about building community, collaboration, and genuine friendships within the photography world.

Returning to Newborn Photography

This one feels personal.

Newborn photography is something I feel like I gave up on too early. I didn’t give myself the time or grace to truly grow into it.

This year, I want to revisit newborn sessions with fresh eyes, renewed patience, and a stronger sense of confidence. Sometimes stepping away gives clarity — and I believe there’s still space for this chapter in my business.

Launching Branding Photography Sessions for Small Businesses

As a small business owner, I understand how important quality imagery and presentation are.

In 2026, I’m excited to begin offering branding sessions — fun, creative, yet professional imagery designed specifically for small businesses. These sessions will help entrepreneurs show up confidently and cohesively across their websites and social platforms.

Your brand deserves to be seen well.

Looking Ahead to 2026

None of these goals are about being perfect — they’re about being intentional.

I’m giving myself permission to evolve, try new things, revisit old ones, and build a business that feels aligned with where I am now. One that leaves room for creativity, structure, community, and growth.

I’m really excited about what 2026 holds — and even more grateful for the clients, collaborators, and friends who continue to trust me, support me, and walk alongside me in this journey.

If you’ve been here for a while or you’re just finding your way here, thank you. I can’t wait to create meaningful work together in 2026.

If you’ve been thinking about booking a session, collaborating, or just want to follow along as these goals unfold, I’d love to connect. 💕
